Affectionately called “Briland” by its residents, Harbour Island is one of the oldest and most charming settlements in the Bahamas. Dunmore Town — named after its founder, Lord Dunmore in 1786 — is the main and only town on Harbour Island and is one of the oldest settlements in the Bahamas. A small quaint village featuring New England architecture, Dunmore was known for its ship building and sugar refinement in the late 1800s.
Only stretching 3.5 miles long with 2,000 or so inhabitants, everything on Harbour Island is just of a short golf cart ride away.
